We spent the last weekend in July in Chartres and arrived quite hungry in the city centre. First sight, we decided to have a closer look at the "Le Week End". As I am allergic to some vegetables, I spoke to the chef in the kitchen and he proposed very gentle some dish from the today's specials. They have only day's specials, but we prefer to have a small variety of dishes and good quality instead of 30 or more meals on the menu.
We sat down at the terrace and were served immediately. Although it was very windy and the waitress had some difficulties to keep all everything at its place, she was always friendly, patient and calm, also after all the tables were taken. The dish was served after some minutes and was really delicious. The price for a 3 course menu was 14.90 Euros and was good quality. The only negative point was the price of 0.25l rosé: 7.20 Euros.
We would recommend this little bit nice restaurant, situated next to the cathedral. -

A good place for a meal near The Cathedral--We have eaten here twice. We have always used the entrance on Cloître Notre Dame.
This is not a fancy place and the noon-time menu is quite short, mostly open face tartines. The price/quality ratio is good and the location cannot be beat, just to the side of the cathedral. The times I have been here I have had the Tartine Provencal and been happy. Add a glass of white wine and a tarte tatin for pleasant lunch.
